The 3M 7100141914 is a silicon carbide deburring disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal workpieces. It mounts via a 1/2-inch arbor hole and spins at up to 6000 RPM, making it compatible with standard angle grinders and die grinders used in fabrication and maintenance work. The very coarse grade cuts quickly through burrs, sharp edges, and surface irregularities left after cutting, drilling, or stamping operations. At 4 inches in diameter, it fits commonly available disc-style backing pads. Machinists, pipefitters, ironworkers, and general fabricators will find this disc suited to fast edge prep on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This deburring disc is used in shop and field applications where burr removal and edge conditioning are required before assembly, welding, or inspection. Typical scenarios include deburring pipe ends, sheet metal edges, and drilled holes. The silicon carbide abrasive material performs well on a range of metals and harder non-metallic surfaces. It is sold individually and is intended as a consumable replacement disc in ongoing maintenance or production workflows.
Designed as a replacement deburring disc for use with angle grinders and die grinders accepting a 4-inch disc with a 1/2-inch arbor mounting.
Installation should be performed by a qualified tradesperson following the tool manufacturer's mounting instructions for abrasive discs. Always power down and disconnect the grinder before mounting or removing the disc. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and never exceed the 6000 RPM maximum speed rating. Appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves should be worn during disc changes and operation.
