The 3M 7100138332 is a radial bristle brush engineered for surface preparation, cleaning, and light deburring across a wide range of industrial and trade applications. Measuring 8 inches in diameter by 1 inch wide with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, this brush uses aluminum oxide and Cubitron abrasive grain bonded into flexible bristle segments that deliver consistent cut at 50 grit. The radial design allows the abrasive tips to contact the workpiece with minimal applied pressure, reducing operator fatigue and the risk of workpiece damage. A universal bench motor adapter is included in the package, expanding compatibility with common bench-mounted drive units.
This brush is suited for metalworking shops, HVAC fabrication work, plumbing prep, and general maintenance tasks where wire brush contamination or surface gouging is a concern. It cleans oxides, scale, rust, and light coatings from metal substrates without embedding wire fragments that can compromise welds or coatings. Typical users include pipefitters, sheet metal workers, and maintenance technicians working on steel, stainless, aluminum, and similar metals. The flange configuration supports secure mounting on standard bench motors and right-angle grinders with the appropriate arbor.
Designed for use with bench motors and compatible rotary drive tools accepting a 1-1/4 inch arbor. The included universal bench motor adapter broadens fitment across common bench-mounted units.
Installation and mounting should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with rotary abrasive tool safety. Power down and lock out the drive unit before mounting or removing the brush. Verify that the drive unit RPM rating does not exceed the maximum rated speed of the brush before operation. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during use per standard abrasive tool safety guidelines.
