The 3M 7100138176 is a 3-inch diameter ceramic radial bristle disc designed for aggressive surface preparation on metal, painted, and coated substrates. Built with molded, abrasive-filled flexible bristles and 3M ceramic abrasive grain at 50 grit, it delivers consistent cutting action and finish quality from the first use through the end of the disc's service life. Unlike wire brushes, the bristle construction conforms to irregular contours and complex part geometry, making it effective on both flat and curved work surfaces. HVAC technicians, fabricators, welders, and maintenance professionals use this disc for fast, controlled material removal without wire-filament hazards.
This disc is suited for use in industrial maintenance, metal fabrication, HVAC duct and component prep, weld cleanup, and general surface conditioning applications. It removes paint, rust, heavy oxides, weld burns, adhesives, and surface contaminants from large areas efficiently. The radial bristle design and spacing are optimized for high-loading conditions such as coating removal. Sold individually, it mounts to standard right-angle die grinders and angle grinders compatible with 3-inch radial bristle disc arbors.
Designed for use with standard right-angle die grinders and angle grinders that accept 3-inch radial bristle discs. Confirm arbor and speed ratings on the tool before installation.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive disc safety practices. Before mounting, verify the tool's maximum RPM meets or exceeds the disc's rated speed, and ensure the spindle arbor is compatible. Always wear appropriate eye and face protection, as well as gloves, during operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and remove it from service if bristles show abnormal wear or deformation.
