The 3M 7100113111 is a Cubitron II Hookit Cloth Disc 947A designed for aggressive material removal on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. It uses 3M Precision Shaped Grain, a structured abrasive that fractures along engineered angles to maintain a consistently sharp cutting edge throughout the disc's life. An integrated grinding aid reduces heat buildup at the work surface, which is critical when working exotic alloys that are sensitive to thermal discoloration. The X-weight polyester-cotton cloth backing handles medium to high pressure applications without delaminating or breaking down prematurely. This disc is used by metal fabricators, weld prep technicians, and surface finishing professionals.
The 7100113111 is suited for medium to high pressure grinding and blending applications in fabrication shops, aerospace component finishing, and heavy industrial metal prep environments. It is engineered for use on stainless steel and exotic alloys where heat control and consistent cut rate are priorities. The Hookit attachment system allows the disc to be removed and reattached to a compatible backup pad quickly between jobs, reducing changeover time. It runs at a maximum speed of 12000 RPM on a 5-inch disc grinder or random orbital tool equipped with a Hookit-style backup pad.
Designed for use with Hookit-style backup pads on 5-inch disc grinders and random orbital sanders rated to 12000 RPM or higher. Suitable for grinding and finishing stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys.
Licensed metal fabricators and surface finishing technicians typically install and operate this disc. Before mounting, confirm the backup pad and tool spindle are rated to at least 12000 RPM and that the Hookit pad surface is clean and free of debris. Power down and disconnect the grinder before attaching or removing the disc. Do not exceed the disc's rated RPM, and always wear appropriate PPE including a face shield and hearing protection when grinding exotic alloys.
