The 3M 7100104972 is a Type 29 right-angle flap disc engineered for medium to high-pressure grinding and finishing on metal surfaces. Built on a durable polyester backing, the disc uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain abrasive technology to deliver a fast, consistent cut throughout the life of the disc. At 5 inches in diameter and 40 grit, it is suited for aggressive material removal tasks including beveling, weld removal, and edge deburring. As individual flaps wear down, fresh mineral is continuously exposed, maintaining cut rate and reducing the need for disc changes during a job.
This flap disc is used in fabrication shops, structural steel work, and general metalworking environments where both material removal speed and surface finish quality matter. It operates on standard right-angle grinders and is appropriate for use on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other common metal substrates.
