The 3M 7100053413 is a unitized nonwoven abrasive wheel designed for deburring, surface finishing, and blending in industrial metalworking applications. Built with 3M Precision-Shaped Grain ceramic abrasive, the wheel cuts fast and maintains sharpness through extended use. The 2-inch diameter unitized construction bonds the nonwoven fibers and abrasive together as a single integrated structure, delivering consistent performance and longer service life compared to standard flap wheels or cartridge rolls. Licensed machinists, fabricators, and toolroom technicians use this wheel for moderate to heavy burr removal as well as final surface blending in a single operation.
This wheel is suited for robotic and automated finishing lines as well as manual bench grinder or die grinder setups. Its conformable construction allows the abrasive surface to follow complex contours and irregular part geometries without losing consistent contact. It is a practical single-wheel alternative to multi-step processes that would otherwise require cartridge rolls, flap wheels, flap discs, and coated abrasive discs in sequence. Typical base materials include steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals common in fabrication and machining environments.
Designed for use on metalworking applications requiring deburring, finishing, or blending on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and similar metals. Suitable for robotic processing equipment and manual grinder setups accepting 2-inch diameter unitized wheels.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or abrasives technician following the grinder or spindle manufacturer's mounting instructions. Power down and de-energize the machine completely before mounting or removing any abrasive wheel. Verify that the machine's rated RPM meets or does not exceed the wheel's maximum operating speed before use. Inspect the wheel for cracks or damage before each use and follow applicable ANSI B11 and OSHA abrasive wheel safety standards.
