The 3M 7100019079 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt built for precision surface work on metals. It uses aluminum oxide (AO) mineral bonded with resin onto an open-web nonwoven material reinforced with scrim backing. The open-web construction reduces loading and heat buildup, which extends working life and delivers consistent results across long production runs. Technicians rely on it for blending, deburring, flat finishing, contour finishing, and attaining straightline-brushed or stainless steel finishes. It measures 75 inches in length and 36 inches in width.
This belt is suited for metal fabrication, finishing, and surface conditioning applications in both production and job-shop environments. It performs well on flat surfaces, edges, corners, and complex contoured parts. Its conformability makes it compatible with robotic and automated processing setups where consistent abrasive contact on irregular geometry is required. Common tasks include removing grind lines, mill marks, and surface imperfections, as well as setting the grain on stainless steel and other metals. It is sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit belt for wide-belt surface conditioning machines that accept a 75-inch by 36-inch belt configuration.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with the specific wide-belt finishing machine in use. Power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use.
