The 3M 7100016211 is a two-part epoxy panel bonding adhesive designed to bond steel, aluminum, SMC, and FRP (traditional fiberglass) substrates on automotive and commercial vehicle outer body panels. It is engineered for structural adhesive joining of outer panels during collision repair and body replacement work. Built-in glass bead spacers control bond line thickness automatically, eliminating the need for manual shimming. The adhesive includes corrosion-inhibiting properties to protect bonded joints over time. Curing is accelerated on demand with the application of heat, giving technicians control over workflow pace. This product ships in a 450 mL cartridge format, sold per each unit.
This adhesive is used by automotive body technicians and collision repair professionals working on outer body panel replacement. Typical applications include quarter panels, roofs, box sides, van sides, utility vehicle sides, and door skins. It is rated for use on steel, aluminum, SMC, and FRP outer panels only. It is not intended for structural components such as pillars, frame rails, core supports, or rocker panels on unibody vehicles. Commercial vehicle body shops and fleet repair operations will find this product well-suited to high-volume panel replacement workflows.
Designed for use on outer body panels including quarter panels, roofs, box sides, van sides, utility vehicle sides, and door skins constructed of steel, aluminum, SMC, or FRP. Not for use on structural components such as pillars, frame rails, core supports, or rocker panels on unibody vehicles.
Application is performed by collision repair technicians using a standard dual-cartridge dispensing gun compatible with 450 mL two-part adhesive cartridges. Surface preparation is critical — substrates must be clean, dry, and free of oils, paint, and corrosion before adhesive is applied. Follow all applicable shop safety procedures when working with two-part epoxy systems, including adequate ventilation and appropriate personal protective equipment. Do not use this product on structural or load-bearing components.
