The 3M 7100010994 is a static-resistant petroleum sorbent pad engineered for the safe cleanup of highly flammable petroleum-based liquids. The pad uses an oleophilic construction that sorbs hydrocarbon-based liquids while repelling aqueous-based liquids through a hydrophobic design. A specialized static-resistant treatment reduces the risk of static charge buildup and static arcing during use, making the pad suitable for low-humidity environments (below 20% relative humidity) and sub-freezing temperatures. Each pad sorbs up to twice as much oil and flammable liquid by weight compared to standard melt-blown static-resistant sorbents, reducing total waste and cleanup time. Licensed technicians and safety personnel handling fuel spills on land or on water are the primary users.
This sorbent pad is intended for spill response and routine maintenance cleanup involving petroleum-based and hydrocarbon-based flammable liquids. It performs effectively in conditions that increase static arcing risk, including low relative humidity and freezing temperatures. Each bale contains 100 pads and provides a total sorption capacity of 37.5 gallons per bale. The pad works on land and on water, covering a range of industrial, fueling, and service environments where flammable liquid spills require controlled, static-safe management.
Designed for use with petroleum-based and hydrocarbon-based flammable liquids in industrial, fueling station, and service facility spill response applications.
Deployment should be performed by trained hazmat, safety, or maintenance personnel following applicable site safety protocols and local environmental regulations. Before use, eliminate ignition sources in the work area and verify that conditions warranting static-resistant sorbents are present, such as low relative humidity or sub-freezing temperatures. Used sorbent pads containing flammable liquids must be handled, stored, and disposed of in accordance with local, state, and federal hazardous waste regulations. Do not use these pads for spills involving chemicals incompatible with polypropylene sorbent materials.
