The 3M 7100006342 is a corded, disposable foam earplug designed for industrial and occupational hearing protection. Built from soft, slow-recovery polyurethane foam with a tapered profile, these earplugs achieve a Noise Reduction Rating of 33 dB, placing them at the high end of typical earplug performance. The corded design allows the plugs to hang around the neck between uses, reducing the chance of loss or contamination on the job site. Each pair ships in a poly bag to maintain cleanliness before insertion. This is a large-size earplug suitable for workers requiring extended daily wear in high-noise environments.
These earplugs are suited for a wide range of industrial applications including assembly, chipping, chiseling, drilling, furnace operations, grinding, heavy equipment operation, machining, metal repair, painting, pouring and casting, power fastening, riveting, sanding, sawing, and welding. Common deployment industries include agriculture, automotive, chemicals, construction, general manufacturing, healthcare, oil and gas, and pharmaceuticals. The plugs are compatible with the 3M E-A-Rfit Validation System for workplace fit testing programs. Units are sold by the box with a minimum order quantity of 10.
Compatible with the 3M E-A-Rfit Validation System. Designed as a disposable corded earplug for industrial hearing protection programs across multiple industries and trades.
Roll the earplug down to its smallest diameter before insertion; reach over the head with the opposite hand to pull the outer ear upward and back, then insert the compressed plug and hold it in place for approximately 20-30 seconds while the foam expands to seal the ear canal. Do not insert the plug while it is fully expanded. Workers should confirm a proper seal is achieved before entering a high-noise area. Hearing protection programs should be administered in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95 and applicable site safety requirements.
