The 3M 7100005048 Fastbond Foam Adhesive 100NF is a water-dispersed neoprene contact adhesive formulated for bonding porous substrates to porous or non-porous surfaces. Supplied in a 5-gallon pail and weighing 9.78 pounds, it delivers a fast tack within 15 seconds — making it well-suited for seam work and curved surface applications. Once set, the bond achieves foam-tearing strength, meaning the substrate fails before the adhesive joint. This adhesive is commonly applied by upholstery fabricators, insulation installers, foam fabricators, and finish carpenters working with flexible foam assemblies and composite panel construction.
Fastbond 100NF is designed for use in residential and commercial fabrication environments where flexible polyurethane foam, latex foam fabric, and polyester fiberfill must be bonded to themselves or to rigid substrates. It adheres to wood, plywood, particleboard, and a range of plastic and metal surfaces. The neutral formulation and water-based carrier make it appropriate for interior applications where solvent-based adhesives are restricted or undesirable. Typical use cases include foam cushion assembly, panel lamination, acoustic liner bonding, and upholstery work.
Designed for bonding many types of flexible polyurethane foam, latex foam fabric, polyester fiberfill, wood, plywood, particleboard, and many plastic and metal surfaces. Suitable for both porous-to-porous and porous-to-non-porous substrate combinations.
Apply to both surfaces and allow to partially dry before mating for a contact-bond hold. Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area even though this is a water-based adhesive. Keep product away from freezing temperatures during storage and transport, as water-based adhesives are sensitive to freeze-thaw cycles. Personal protective equipment including gloves and eye protection is recommended during application.
