The 3M 7010415021 is a coated abrasive belt from the Cubitron II 984F series, engineered for demanding metalworking and grinding operations. Built on a YF-weight polyester cloth backing, this belt uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology, which continuously fractures to expose fresh, sharp cutting points. The result is a consistently fast cut rate with reduced heat buildup. At 50 grit, the belt is suited for aggressive stock removal on stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, nickel alloys, and other exotic alloys. A built-in grinding aid further controls heat at the workpiece surface, reducing discoloration, oxidation, and the risk of heat-related stress cracks.
This belt measures 132 inches long by 4 inches wide, making it compatible with wide-format belt grinders and pressure-assisted grinding machines used in fabrication shops, aerospace component finishing, and industrial metalworking environments. It is particularly effective in robotic grinding cells and pressure-assisted applications where consistent belt life and reduced downtime are priorities. The 984F is designed for medium to high pressure applications and performs across a range of ferrous and non-ferrous specialty alloys.
Designed for use on belt grinders and pressure-assisted or robotic grinding machines that accept a 132-inch by 4-inch abrasive belt, for applications involving stainless steel, carbon steel, cobalt chrome, and nickel alloys.
Installation should be performed by qualified grinding or fabrication technicians following the machine manufacturer's belt-tracking and tensioning procedures. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the belt. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear before installing a new belt, as irregular surfaces accelerate uneven belt wear. Always confirm belt direction arrows align with the machine's drive direction before startup.
