The 3M 7010409237 is a Trizact 217EA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology, in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into precisely shaped pyramids and bonded to a JE-weight rayon cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed. This self-renewing cutting action delivers a consistent cut rate and a predictable, fine surface finish throughout the life of the belt. The belt measures 168 inches in length and 4 inches in width and weighs 0.65 pounds.
This belt is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing steps prior to plating or buffing on metal workpieces. Its flexible JE-weight rayon backing conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it effective for both flat and shaped parts.
