The 3M 7010397570 is a heavy-wall, heat shrink cable sleeve from the ITCSN series, designed for insulating, sealing, and protecting electrical cable terminations and splices. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin with a factory-applied adhesive and sealant lining, this sleeve delivers a moisture-resistant, split-resistant seal when heat is applied. It is rated to 1 kV and UL Listed 486D for 600V (File Number E102356) with a CSA rating, making it suitable for demanding electrical environments. Electricians and electrical contractors install this product as part of cable management and protection work in both commercial and industrial applications.
This heat shrink sleeve is sold in bulk cut-to-length format, giving installers flexibility to size the sleeve to the specific cable or termination. The fast-shrink characteristic of the cross-linked polyolefin material speeds up installation, reducing time on the job. It is appropriate for use in wire harnessing, cable splicing, and cable end sealing in low-voltage electrical systems up to 1 kV. The adhesive and sealant layer activates during the shrink process to form a secure environmental seal around the cable.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use heat shrink sleeve for low-voltage electrical cable protection and sealing applications up to 1 kV.
Licensed electricians and electrical contractors typically install heat shrink cable sleeves as part of cable termination or splice work in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out all circuits before applying the sleeve to any cable or termination. Apply heat evenly along the sleeve using an appropriate heat gun, working from the center outward to ensure the adhesive flows and seals properly. Do not use an open flame to shrink the sleeve, as uneven heat can damage the material or leave voids in the sealant layer.
