The 3M 7010379732 is a dead-soft aluminum foil tape with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive, built for heat shielding, heat reflecting, seaming, and sealing across HVAC, plumbing, and industrial applications. The foil backing conforms readily to curved and uneven surfaces, making it practical for duct wrap seams, insulation joints, and irregular substrates. At 12 inches wide and 60 yards long per roll, it delivers extended coverage per roll. The acrylic adhesive is engineered for long-term durability while still releasing cleanly after masking use. Classified by UL to UL 723 with a Class L low-flammability rating, this tape meets common code requirements for HVAC and mechanical insulation work. Licensed HVAC technicians, sheet metal workers, and insulation contractors are the primary installers.
This tape is suited for residential and commercial HVAC duct seaming and sealing, insulation facing repairs, heat-shielding applications, and light-reflective installations. The thermally conductive foil helps dissipate heat and improves heating and cooling efficiency, protecting temperature-sensitive materials nearby. Its resistance to flame, weathering, moisture, and UV makes it appropriate for both indoor mechanical rooms and exposed outdoor installations where environmental durability is required. It is the linered version of 3M Aluminum Foil Tape 431, offering the same foil and adhesive system with the addition of a release liner for cleaner handling.
Designed for use in HVAC duct seaming and sealing, insulation jacketing, heat shielding, and general-purpose foil tape applications in residential and commercial mechanical systems.
Installation is typically performed by HVAC technicians, sheet metal workers, or insulation contractors. Ensure the substrate surface is clean, dry, and free of dust or grease before applying tape for maximum adhesion. When used on duct systems, follow local mechanical codes and manufacturer guidelines for approved sealing methods. Apply firm hand pressure or use a roller to fully seat the adhesive, particularly on curved or uneven surfaces.
