The 3M 7010372139 is a 5.0 mil acrylic adhesive transfer tape in the 950 series, supplied on a 3.5 mil, 60 lb densified kraft paper liner. The adhesive is a 300 high strength acrylic formulation engineered for aggressive initial tack and strong long-term bond strength. It performs reliably on both high surface energy (HSE) substrates such as metal and glass and low surface energy (LSE) substrates such as polyolefin plastics. The tape carries UL approval and meets US government specification MIL-P-19834B, Amendment 1. Installers and fabricators working in HVAC panel assembly, electrical enclosure labeling, and general industrial bonding will find this tape suited to thin, high-tack bonding applications where a wet adhesive or mechanical fastener is impractical.
This transfer tape is designed for a wide range of bonding, laminating, and splicing tasks encountered in light industrial and trade work. Typical applications include splicing films, foils, and fabrics, as well as laminating foam materials, photographs, fabrics, and metal or plastic nameplates. It delivers good UV resistance and good chemical resistance, making it appropriate for applications exposed to moderate environmental stress. The 950 is a thicker-build version of the 3M 927 tape, offering greater adhesive mass for demanding bond lines. The roll format at 0.37 inch wide and 180 yards long is suited to high-volume or continuous-process work.
Designed for bonding similar and dissimilar materials including films, foils, fabrics, foams, and metal or plastic nameplates where an aggressive acrylic adhesive with high initial adhesion is required.
Surface preparation is critical for transfer tape bonds — clean and degrease all substrates before application. Apply firm, uniform pressure across the bond area to ensure full adhesive contact. No tools beyond a hand roller or squeegee are typically required. Remove the kraft paper liner cleanly without stretching the adhesive web to maintain consistent coverage.
