The 3M 7010367286 is a Quick Change Surface Conditioning RC Disc designed for surface prep work on flat workpieces ahead of final finishes and coatings. Built on an open-web RC material substrate with aluminum oxide mineral, the disc cleans and finishes in a single pass, eliminating a separate prep step. The RC material breaks down under medium pressure to expose fresh fibers and mineral, maintaining cut rate throughout the disc's life. At 1.5 inches in diameter and rated Very Fine grade, it is suited for light material removal, blending, and coating prep on flat surfaces. HVAC sheet metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and metalworkers in light industrial settings are the primary installers of this disc.
This disc is designed for use on flat surfaces including composites and softer metals such as aluminum. Typical applications include blending, coating removal, surface finishing, and light deburring. The load-resistant RC material resists clogging from paint residue and corrosion byproducts, making it effective on surfaces where conventional abrasive discs tend to load up quickly. The open-web construction conforms to minor surface irregularities and reduces the risk of gouging the workpiece.
Designed for use with standard quick change disc tool holders compatible with 1.5-inch diameter RC discs. Suitable for use on composites, aluminum, and other soft metals on flat work surfaces.
Mount the disc onto a compatible quick change tool holder and verify the locking mechanism is fully engaged before operating. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and replace if the RC material shows excessive wear or delamination. Apply medium pressure during use; excessive pressure accelerates breakdown and reduces disc life. Always wear appropriate eye and hand protection when operating rotary abrasive tools.
