The 3M 7010366797 is a convolute deburring wheel engineered for consistent material removal and surface finishing on metal workpieces. Built with silicon carbide abrasive at a fine grade and density 9 (extra hard), this wheel delivers aggressive cutting action while maintaining a uniform finish pass after pass. The convolute construction bonds multiple layers of abrasive-coated nonwoven fiber around a core, producing a wheel that wears evenly and resists loading. It weighs 0.7 pounds and is rated to a maximum of 4,500 RPM. Metalworking shops, fabricators, and machinists rely on this type of wheel for edge deburring, blending, and light stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
This wheel is suited for use on backstands, inline sanders, and manual backstands where consistent contact pressure and rotational speed can be maintained. The 8-inch diameter and 0.5-inch face width make it a practical fit for standard backstand configurations in production and job-shop environments. It is compatible with mandrel and adapter type 356. Applications include deburring stamped or machined parts, tube ends, flat stock edges, and weld seams where a controlled, repeatable finish is required.
Designed for use with backstands, inline sanders, and manual backstands. Compatible with mandrel and adapter type 356.
Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworking technician or machinist. Always power down and lock out the machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Confirm that the spindle speed of the host machine does not exceed the 4,500 RPM maximum rating of this wheel before operation. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and follow applicable ANSI B7 safety standards for abrasive wheel handling and guarding.
