The 3M 7010366410 Scotch-Brite Roloc Gasket Removal Disc is a 2-inch non-woven abrasive disc engineered for removing old gasket residue and preparing mating surfaces for new gasket installation. Built with an aluminum oxide (AO) grain in a coarse grade, it cuts aggressively through hardened sealant and compressed gasket material. The open-web, non-woven fiber construction allows heat to dissipate during use, making the disc effective on both steel and aluminum surfaces without marring or distorting the workpiece. The Roloc quick-change threaded attachment mounts and dismounts in seconds, which suits multi-step surface preparation workflows common in engine, compressor, and mechanical assembly environments.
This disc is used in industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, and manufacturing environments where gasket surfaces must be cleaned down to bare metal before reassembly. Its 2-inch diameter allows access to tight spaces and small flange faces where larger discs cannot reach. Trades and applications include diesel mechanics, millwrights, pipefitters, and general maintenance technicians working on engines, pumps, compressors, and flanged pipe assemblies. Sold in a minimum quantity of 5 discs per pack.
Designed for use with Roloc quick-change compatible right-angle die grinders and backup pads that accept the standard threaded Roloc attachment system.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified mechanics or maintenance technicians following applicable shop safety procedures. Always power down and de-energize or depressurize the equipment being serviced before working on gasket surfaces. Wear appropriate eye protection and respiratory protection when grinding or abrading gasket material. Confirm the backup pad is rated for the disc diameter and the tool RPM before mounting.
