The 3M 7010365522 Scotch-Brite PD Surface Conditioning Belt is a non-woven abrasive belt designed for cleaning, blending, and finishing metal surfaces in fabrication and metalworking applications. At 349 inches long and 4 inches wide, it features an aluminum oxide (AO) mineral bonded to a lofty, open-web nylon construction with a scrim backing. The thicker, loftier web resists loading on soft and oily materials, allowing extended operating time without glazing. The spring-like nylon fibers deliver consistent surface conditioning results while conforming to contours without altering or discoloring the workpiece. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators working with non-ferrous metals rely on this belt for single-step conditioning and finishing.
This belt is well suited for file belt and backstand applications in both shop and field metalworking environments. It performs on softer metals including aluminum, copper, and brass, as well as non-ferrous metals broadly, and achieves a highly uniform finish on stainless steel. The low-pressure capability makes it appropriate for thin-gauge or heat-sensitive workpieces where aggressive abrasives would cause distortion. It is sold individually per the unit of measure specified by the supplier.
Designed for use on file belts and backstands; suitable for cleaning and finishing aluminum, copper, brass, non-ferrous metals, and stainless steel surfaces in standard metalworking setups.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified metalworking personnel with the machine fully powered down and unplugged before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination prior to each use. Always wear appropriate eye and hand protection when operating abrasive belt equipment.
