The 3M 7010365181 is a 3-inch hook and loop abrasive disc designed for precision surface finishing and polishing work. Part of the 3M 6002J series, it uses diamond abrasive material bonded to a flexible cloth backing, making it well suited for ultra-fine material removal and surface preparation on hard or delicate substrates. At 1800 grit with a 10-micron grit rating, this disc is intended for finishing passes where scratch refinement and surface smoothness are the primary goals. It mounts via a hook and loop attachment system, allowing quick disc changes during production or service work. Licensed tradespeople and skilled fabricators working with tile, composites, stone, glass, or hardened metals will find this disc appropriate for final-stage finishing operations.
This disc is used in applications where ultra-fine surface conditioning is required, including polishing hardened tool steel, ceramic tile, natural stone, glass, and engineered composites. The coated diamond abrasive construction allows it to maintain cutting performance on materials that would rapidly wear conventional aluminum oxide or silicon carbide abrasives. The flexible cloth backing conforms to slightly contoured surfaces, making it useful in both flat and mildly curved finishing scenarios. No vacuum holes are included, so it is used on standard random orbital or rotary tools with a compatible 3-inch hook and loop backup pad.
Designed for use with 3-inch hook and loop backup pads on random orbital or rotary finishing tools. Compatible with tools accepting standard 3-inch hook and loop abrasive discs. No specific OEM tool model compatibility was provided in the product data.
Attach the disc firmly to a clean, dry 3-inch hook and loop backup pad before use. Inspect the backup pad for wear or contamination that could cause uneven disc seating. Operate at tool speeds appropriate for diamond abrasive discs on the target material, and allow the disc to do the work without excessive pressure, which can reduce abrasive life and damage the workpiece surface.
