The 3M 7010360056 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) abrasive disc designed for material removal and surface preparation on random orbital sanders. The disc measures 8 inches in diameter and carries an 80-grit rating, placing it in the medium grade range — effective for stock removal, blending welds, and leveling surfaces before finishing. The abrasive mineral is ceramic aluminum oxide, a self-sharpening material that maintains cut rate longer than standard aluminum oxide on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, wood composites, and painted surfaces. An F-weight paper backing provides a balance of flexibility and support, allowing the disc to conform to slight surface contours without tearing under load.
This disc is suited for production and maintenance grinding tasks in fabrication shops, automotive body work, woodworking, and general metalworking. The PSA backing mounts directly to foam or hard backing pads with a matching adhesive interface — no hook-and-loop fastener required. The 763U series targets applications where a consistent, moderate cut rate and long disc life are priorities. Each disc ships without vacuum holes, so it is intended for use on non-vac orbital pads or in environments where dust extraction is handled separately. This listing contains 50 discs per package.
Designed for use with random orbital sanders equipped with 8-inch PSA (adhesive) backing pads. No vacuum holes are included, so this disc is not compatible with vac-port backing pads without modification.
PSA discs should be applied to a clean, dry backing pad free of adhesive residue from previous discs — contaminated pads reduce bond strength and can cause disc separation during use. Press the disc firmly and evenly onto the pad before powering the sander. Disconnect or power down the sander before mounting or removing any disc. Discard discs that show tearing, loading, or loss of abrasive mineral to prevent uneven surface finish and potential workpiece damage.
