The 3M 7010349247 is a partially insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp connections on 6 AWG copper wire. The nylon insulation sleeve covers the barrel section while leaving the ring exposed, providing mechanical protection at the crimp zone without obstructing stud contact. The blue color coding corresponds to the 6 AWG wire range, allowing technicians to sort and verify connections at a glance. This terminal accepts a 1/2-inch stud and is supplied in a 25-piece package. Electricians and panel technicians install these terminals when terminating branch circuit conductors, grounding conductors, or equipment bonding jumpers at lugs, bus bars, and terminal blocks.
This ring terminal is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where a secure, low-resistance mechanical connection is required. Typical applications include control panel wiring, grounding connections, and equipment terminations where 6 AWG conductors must be landed on a 1/2-inch stud. The partially insulated design is common in situations where the ring face must maintain full metal-to-metal contact with the lug or bus surface while the crimp barrel remains protected against abrasion and incidental contact.
Designed for use with 6 AWG copper conductors and 1/2-inch mounting studs. Suitable as a standard crimp ring terminal in electrical panels, grounding assemblies, and equipment wiring applications that require a partially insulated terminal meeting UL and CSA requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the NEC and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage before terminating conductors. Use a ratcheting crimp tool rated for the terminal and wire size to achieve a full, inspection-grade crimp. Do not solder over a crimped connection, as this can create a stress point and compromise long-term mechanical integrity.
