The 3M 7010330327 is a Quick Change Surface Conditioning FE Disc engineered for one-step workpiece preparation ahead of final finishes and coatings. Built on a flexible FE substrate with aluminum oxide abrasive, it delivers high initial cut rate and extended stock removal under firm contact pressure. At 1 inch in diameter and rated to 20,000 rpm, it mounts quickly via a quick-change attachment for fast disc swapping during production work. Metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians use it for deburring, blending, and edge prep on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys.
This disc is suited for flats and edgework where consistent stock removal and edge durability are priorities. The open-web FE material responds to surface irregularities and reduces the risk of gouging, making it a practical choice for blending operations on machined components, weldments, and fabricated parts. It is available in coarse grade (brown), medium grade (maroon), and very fine grade (blue), allowing selection by application and surface finish requirement. Typical users include metal fabrication shops, maintenance and repair facilities, and industrial finishing operations.
Designed for use with quick-change disc holders and compatible rotary tools rated at or above 20,000 rpm. Intended for use on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys.
Installation is performed by metalworking technicians or fabrication personnel using a compatible quick-change mandrel and a die grinder or straight grinder. Verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 rpm disc rating before operation. Inspect the disc for damage before each use and discard any disc showing tears, missing sections, or hub damage. Follow applicable shop safety protocols including eye protection and guarding requirements.
