The 3M 7010309655 is a Roloc TS quick-change abrasive disc designed for surface conditioning, light deburring, blending, and finishing on metal and composite surfaces. It uses a non-woven aluminum oxide construction rated at a Very Fine grade, making it well-suited for final surface prep and scratch removal without aggressive stock removal. The Type S twist-lock attachment system allows fast one-handed disc changes on compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders. At a 1.5-inch diameter, the disc fits into tighter work areas where larger discs cannot reach. It is installed and used by metal fabricators, HVAC sheet metal techs, welders, and general maintenance trades.
This disc is used in light-duty surface conditioning applications on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel. Typical scenarios include weld blending, surface scratch removal, edge finishing, and pre-paint prep on sheet metal components. The compact 1.5-inch diameter makes it practical for small radius curves, tube ends, pipe fittings, and confined areas on ductwork or structural assemblies. It is used in both shop and field settings by trades performing fabrication or repair work that requires a controlled, consistent surface finish.
Designed for use with Roloc TS Type S compatible right-angle grinders and die grinders that accept the twist-lock quick-change system. The Type S button attachment is not interchangeable with standard Roloc Type TR or other non-TS locking systems.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the grinder powered off and disconnected from its power source or air supply. Align the Type S button with the tool's locking collar, press and twist to seat securely before operating. Always verify the tool's rated RPM meets or exceeds the disc's 30000 RPM maximum before use. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required when operating abrasive discs.
