The 3M 7010308254 is a Trizact 407EA cloth abrasive belt engineered for light-pressure dimensioning and finishing on metal substrates. Built on a cloth backing with a silicon carbide abrasive grain, this belt is designed to blend and polish surfaces with consistent, controlled cut. A built-in grinding aid helps reduce operating temperature during use, which lowers the risk of heat-related discoloration on sensitive workpieces. At 18 inches long and 3/4 inch wide, it is sized for stroke and platen sander configurations common in precision finishing operations.
This belt sees regular use in aerospace fabrication, orthopedic implant manufacturing, surgical instrument production, and plating and polishing operations. It performs especially well on titanium, where heat management during finishing is critical. The structured abrasive construction of the 407EA line delivers a consistent scratch pattern across the full life of the belt, making it suitable for finishing work that requires repeatable surface quality. Grades A110, A90, A60, and A20 are available to match the cut level to the application.
Designed for use with stroke sanders and platen sanders in light-pressure dimensioning and finishing applications on titanium, stainless steel, and other metal substrates. Commonly specified in aerospace, orthopedic implant, surgical instrument, and plating and polishing operations.
Installation should be performed by qualified finishing or grinding technicians familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Ensure the sander is powered down and de-energized before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Confirm that the selected grade matches the surface finish requirement before beginning a production run.
