The 3M 7010308239 is a coated abrasive cloth belt designed for aggressive stock removal and metal finishing applications. It uses a blend of ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, a combination that cuts faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide belts. The belt measures 264 inches long by 3 inches wide and runs at P120 grit. A heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure contact wheel and platen applications without breakdown. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup at the cut zone, making this belt well-suited for stainless steel and other heat-sensitive metals. Installation is performed by maintenance technicians, fabricators, and metalworking professionals on stationary and portable belt grinders.
This belt is built for industrial and metal fabrication environments where throughput and belt life directly affect operating costs. It performs in dry grinding setups as well as wet applications with cutting fluid or lubricant. Typical use cases include weld blending, scale removal, surface conditioning, and finish grinding on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The orange resin bond construction resists thermal degradation during extended high-pressure passes, reducing the frequency of belt changes compared to conventional aluminum oxide belts.
Designed for use on stationary belt grinders, pipe grinders, and portable belt grinding equipment that accept a 264 inch by 3 inch abrasive belt. Confirm machine contact wheel and platen dimensions before installation.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified maintenance or fabrication personnel. Power down and lock out the grinder before removing the worn belt or installing a new one, following OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the belt or the grinder.
