The 3M 7010308215 is a Trizact 237AA abrasive belt engineered for intermediate finishing and fine polishing in demanding production and robotic grinding applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology, in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramid tips wear, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable finish quality throughout the belt's life. The cloth backing provides the flexibility needed to follow contours without compromising surface uniformity.
This belt is sized at 18 inches in length and 0.188 inches in width, making it suited to narrow-belt finishing machines used in metal fabrication shops, job shops, and automated production lines. Typical applications include intermediate stock removal and fine surface preparation before plating, buffing, or coating operations on metal workpieces. The self-sharpening abrasive structure produces finer finishes than conventional electrostatically coated abrasive belts, making it a reliable choice where surface consistency is a process requirement rather than a preference.
Designed for use on narrow-belt finishing machines that accept belts measuring 18 inches in length and 0.188 inches in width; confirm machine belt-path specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machine operator or industrial maintenance technician following the machine manufacturer's belt-change procedure. Power down and lock out the finishing machine before removing the worn belt or installing a new one, in accordance with OSHA lockout/tagout requirements. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's specifications before returning the machine to operation.
