The 3M 7010291364 is a Quick Change Surface Conditioning FE Disc designed for one-step workpiece preparation ahead of final finishes and coatings. Built on a flexible FE nonwoven material, it carries aluminum oxide abrasive grain that delivers a high initial cut rate and sustains that cut rate through extended use. The open web construction responds to surface irregularities, reducing the risk of gouging. This disc mounts via a quick change attachment, which lets technicians swap discs rapidly without additional hardware, keeping production lines and fabrication benches moving efficiently. It is graded Very Fine and is color-coded blue for quick grade identification at the tool.
This disc is suited for deburring, blending, and edgework on ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloys. The FE material is particularly effective when high contact pressure and significant stock removal are needed on flat surfaces and edges. Fabricators, metal finishers, and maintenance technicians working in industrial and manufacturing environments will find it a reliable choice for consistent, repeatable surface prep results before painting, coating, or welding operations.
Designed for use with quick change disc holders and right-angle grinders or die grinders equipped with a compatible quick change arbor. Best suited for ferrous metals, stainless steel, and high nickel and chrome alloy workpieces requiring deburring, blending, or surface conditioning before final finishing or coating.
Installation and disc changes should be performed by a qualified metalworking or maintenance technician familiar with angle grinder and die grinder safety practices. Power down and disconnect the tool from its power source before mounting or removing the disc. Verify that the quick change arbor and disc speed rating are compatible before operation. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye and face protection when operating abrasive discs.
