The 3M 7010291191 is a Trizact 237AA abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing on metal and other hard surfaces. It uses 3M microreplication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X weight cloth backing. As the abrasive pyramids wear during use, fresh sharp mineral is continuously exposed, maintaining a consistent cut rate and producing predictable, fine surface finishes. The belt measures 24 inches in length and 1/4 inch in width, making it suited to narrow belt finishing applications common in metal fabrication and surface prep work. Licensed metalworkers and fabricators are the primary installers and users of this product.
This belt is used in intermediate finishing and fine polishing operations ahead of plating or buffing cycles. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured workpiece surfaces, enabling consistent finish quality across irregular geometry. Its three-dimensional abrasive structure makes it particularly well suited for robotic and automated grinding applications where repeatable finish output is required across high part volumes. Typical applications include stainless steel, aluminum, and other metal components requiring controlled surface finish before final surface treatment.
Designed for use on narrow belt finishing machines and grinders that accept belts measuring 24 inches in length and 1/4 inch in width. Verify machine belt-speed rating and contact wheel compatibility before installation.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified metalworkers or grinding machine operators following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking adjustment after installation and run the machine briefly at reduced speed to verify seating before full operation. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination before each use and replace immediately if damage is found.
