The 3M 7000148200 is a Type 27 ceramic flap disc designed for aggressive material removal and surface blending on steel and stainless steel. Built around a 5-inch diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole, this disc runs up to 12,000 RPM and delivers consistent stock removal with a medium 80-grit cut. The ceramic abrasive grain self-sharpens under pressure, maintaining cut rate through the life of the disc. A poly-cotton cloth backing provides flexibility and conformability across flat and contoured workpieces. Part of the 967A series, this disc suits metalworking environments where surface finish and removal rate both matter. Installation requires a compatible angle grinder with a Type 27 guard configuration.
This flap disc is rated for use on steels and stainless steel in fabrication, maintenance, and production grinding applications. The Type 27 flat-profile configuration is suited for flat surface work and moderate beveling. At 80 grit medium grade, it bridges the gap between heavy stock removal and finish blending, making it a common choice for weld blending, scale removal, and light deburring on sheet metal and structural steel. Sold individually, it fits standard angle grinders equipped with a 7/8-inch arbor.
Designed for use on steels and stainless steel with standard angle grinders accepting a 7/8-inch arbor hole and configured with a Type 27 guard. Part of the 3M 967A series.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified metalworker or maintenance technician familiar with angle grinder safety. Verify the grinder's no-load RPM rating does not exceed the 12,000 RPM maximum before mounting the disc. Ensure the grinder is powered off and unplugged before changing discs. Always use the appropriate Type 27 guard and personal protective equipment including eye and face protection when operating grinding discs.
