The 3M 7000132663 is a heavy-wall, flame-retardant heat shrinkable cable sleeve engineered for reliable performance across electrical splices, connections, and terminations. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin, the sleeve delivers mechanical and environmental protection in demanding trade installations. Each sleeve measures 48 inches in length and comes with a factory-applied adhesive sealant that bonds to the substrate during shrink to create a moisture-resistant seal. The material is highly split resistant and designed to shrink rapidly, reducing installation time on the job. This SKU ships in a minimum quantity of 5 sleeves per case. The sleeve meets MIL-DTL-23053/15, Class 1 military specification requirements.
This cable sleeve is suited for residential and commercial electrical applications where environmental sealing and mechanical protection are required at splice and termination points. Electricians and industrial maintenance technicians use this type of heavy-wall sleeve when a standard thin-wall shrink tube is insufficient for the protection level required. The factory-applied adhesive sealant makes it appropriate for outdoor, wet, and exposure-prone environments where moisture intrusion at connection points is a concern. Order in a size equivalent to the expanded inside diameter required for the conductors or cable bundle being protected.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit heat shrink solution for electrical splices, terminations, and connections requiring heavy-wall mechanical and environmental protection. Select the sleeve size based on the expanded inside diameter of the conductor or cable bundle being covered.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified maintenance technician in accordance with applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits and verify zero voltage before handling or positioning the sleeve over any splice or termination. Apply heat evenly along the length of the sleeve using an appropriate heat gun, working from the center outward to promote uniform shrink and adhesive flow. Do not use an open flame as the heat source, as uncontrolled heat can damage the sleeve or connected conductors.
