The 3M 7000132509 is a heat shrinkable cable breakout boot designed to insulate and seal cable breakouts in multiconductor armored or sheathed cables and conduit ends. Sold as a single unit, this boot is manufactured from flame retardant, cross-linked polyolefin and meets the material requirements of MIL-I-81765-1. An internal adhesive coating is pre-applied to create a reliable environmental seal when the boot is shrunk in place. The 4-way outlet configuration routes conductors cleanly at a breakout point, providing both electrical and mechanical protection in a finished, professional installation.
This boot is suited for industrial, utility, and commercial electrical applications where multiconductor armored or sheathed cables must be terminated or transitioned at a breakout point. It is also appropriate for use at conduit ends where environmental sealing is required. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors working on medium- and low-voltage cable systems are the primary installers of this product.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation component for multiconductor armored or sheathed cable systems and conduit end applications requiring heat shrinkable breakout protection.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits and verify the absence of voltage before beginning work in accordance with applicable NEC lockout/tagout requirements. Position the boot over the cable breakout point before applying heat evenly with a heat gun, working from the center outward toward each outlet to activate the internal adhesive and achieve full shrinkage. Do not use an open flame to shrink the boot.
