The 3M 7000132508 is a heat shrinkable cable breakout boot designed to insulate and seal cable breakouts in multiconductor armored or sheathed cables and conduit ends. Identified by the model designation HDBB-425-1-250, this boot features a 4-way outlet configuration and is manufactured in black from flame retardant, cross-linked polyolefin. It meets material requirements of MIL-I-81765-1 and is supplied with an internal adhesive coating that creates a reliable environmental seal when heat is applied. Electricians and cable assembly technicians install this boot wherever a protected, watertight breakout transition is required on sheathed or armored multiconductor wiring.
This breakout boot is suited for industrial, commercial, and military-grade cable installations where multiconductor cables exit a conduit end or branch into individual conductors. The 4-way outlet design accommodates branching runs common in control wiring, power distribution harnesses, and armored cable systems. The internal adhesive activates during heat shrink installation, bonding to the cable jacket to block moisture, contaminants, and mechanical stress at the breakout point. Each unit is sold individually.
Designed for use with multiconductor armored or sheathed cables and conduit ends where a 4-way heat shrinkable breakout seal is required.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified cable technicians. De-energize all circuits completely before working on any cable assembly or breakout point. Position the boot over the cable breakout prior to termination, then apply even heat using a calibrated heat gun, working from the center outward toward each outlet to activate the internal adhesive and achieve a uniform shrink. Follow applicable NEC requirements for the installation environment and cable type.
