The 3M 7000132412 is a heavy-wall, flame-retardant heat shrink cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding environments. Manufactured from cross-linked polyolefin, it delivers mechanical and environmental protection while remaining highly split resistant and fast shrinking for rapid installation. Each sleeve measures 48 inches in length and is supplied with a factory-applied adhesive sealant that creates a moisture-resistant seal when heat is applied. The sleeve covers conductor sizes ranging from 3/0 to 400 MCM. Sold in a case quantity of 20 sleeves, this part meets MIL-DTL-23053/15, Class 1 specifications. Electrical contractors and utility technicians rely on this sleeve for medium- to high-voltage cable work.
This cable sleeve is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations where splice and termination protection is required. It is appropriate for use on power distribution cables, feeder runs, and large-conductor terminations. The fast-shrink design reduces labor time during installation. The factory-applied adhesive sealant provides environmental sealing without requiring a separate mastic or sealant step, making it practical for field work in conduit, underground vaults, and exposed cable tray applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitment for heavy-wall heat shrink applications on electrical cables sized 3/0 through 400 MCM. Select the sleeve size equivalent to the expanded inside diameter required for the specific cable or splice configuration.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. Power down and de-energize all conductors before handling or installing this sleeve. Apply heat evenly using an appropriate heat gun or torch, working from the center outward to avoid trapping air and to ensure the adhesive sealant flows uniformly. Do not exceed the material rated shrink temperature or apply an open flame in a manner that chars the sleeve surface.
