The 3M 7000122051 is a 6-inch diameter unitized abrasive wheel built around aluminum oxide (AO) mineral and designed for mid-sequence and finishing tasks on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Constructed with a medium-to-hard density and an open web structure, this wheel delivers consistent cut and extended service life even under demanding workloads. The 1/2-inch arbor hole mounts to a compatible unitized wheel mandrel, sold separately. Metalworkers, fabricators, and industrial maintenance technicians use this wheel for deburring, surface conditioning, and weld cleanup where a longer-lasting alternative to softer-density wheels is needed.
This wheel is suited for removing punched-hole burrs on stainless steel, cleaning heavy scale or weld discoloration, eliminating heavy flashing, and addressing medium-sized pits and scratches. Its medium-to-hard density construction gives it increased edge durability over lighter-duty unitized wheels in the 600 Series, making it appropriate for harder metals and heavier surface preparation tasks. The open web design resists loading, which extends usable wheel life on contaminating materials such as aluminum and mild steel.
Designed for use with a compatible unitized wheel mandrel. Fits tools and machines accepting a 6-inch diameter unitized wheel with a 1/2-inch arbor. Mandrel sold separately.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with rotary abrasive tooling and the applicable ANSI B7.1 safety standards for abrasive wheels. Inspect the wheel for damage before mounting and ensure the spindle speed of the tool does not exceed the maximum rated speed of the wheel. Power down and de-energize the machine completely before mounting or changing wheels. Always use the correct mandrel size and follow the tool manufacturer's mounting instructions.
