The 3M 7000121120 is a Scotch-Brite Cross Buff designed for cleaning and polishing inside diameters on metal and composite workpieces. Measuring 1.5 inches in diameter and 0.375 inches in face width, this 2-ply buff mounts on an 8-32 threaded mandrel and delivers consistent medium-grade abrasive action across its full working surface. The staggered cross construction distributes abrasive contact evenly, making it well suited for deburring, satin finishing, denibbing, defuzzing, and general interior surface cleaning. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and metalworking professionals use it wherever controlled, repeatable surface conditioning inside bores or ports is required.
This cross buff is used in production and maintenance environments where interior diameter work demands a non-woven abrasive with controlled cut and finish. Typical applications include cleaning threaded bores, polishing valve seats, deburring drilled holes, and conditioning interior passages in metal components. The 8-32 threaded mount makes it compatible with standard die grinders, flexible-shaft tools, and bench-mounted spindle units running at appropriate RPM for the buff diameter. It is sold individually (each) with a minimum order quantity of 25 units.
Designed for use with standard 8-32 threaded mandrels on die grinders, flexible-shaft machines, and spindle-mounted rotary tools used in metalworking and finishing applications.
Thread the buff securely onto a compatible 8-32 mandrel before use and verify the mandrel is rated for the intended RPM at this buff diameter. Always power down and disconnect the rotary tool before mounting or removing the buff. Wear appropriate eye protection and follow applicable workplace safety standards for abrasive tooling. Do not exceed the maximum rated speed for the buff size.
