The 3M 7000120933 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt engineered for surface preparation and finishing tasks on metal workpieces. Built on a reinforced scrim backing with an aluminum oxide mineral bonded in resin, this belt handles blending, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, grain setting, and straight-line brushed finishing. The open nonwoven web construction limits heat build-up and reduces loading, which extends working life and delivers consistent results across a range of metal surfaces including stainless steel. Fabricators, metal finishers, and robotic processing operations are the primary users of this belt.
This belt is sized at 11 5/8 inches long by 5 3/8 inches wide and is suited for detail work in both manual and automated finishing applications. The conformable nonwoven structure keeps the abrasive in contact with irregular, contoured, and complex-shaped parts, making it useful for edge deburring, corner blending, and contour finishing. It removes surface imperfections, grind lines, mill marks, and similar surface defects on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Typical applications include production metal finishing in fabrication shops and light manufacturing environments.
Designed as a replacement-style surface conditioning belt for belt-style finishing machines and robotic finishing systems that accept an 11 5/8 inch by 5 3/8 inch belt form factor.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt finishing equipment. Power down and lockout the machine before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt and machine guards before each use.
