The 3M 7000120932 is a non-woven surface conditioning disc designed for heavy-duty deburring and finishing on metal and fabricated surfaces. Built on an open-web fiber construction, this disc combines aggressive cutting action with the flexibility to conform to contoured edges and irregular surfaces. It attaches via a hook and loop system for fast, secure mounting and quick changeover during multi-step finishing operations. The 5 inch diameter disc fits a 7/8 inch arbor and is constructed with aluminum oxide abrasive mineral, making it well suited for aggressive stock removal without loading.
This disc is used in metalworking and fabrication environments where edge deburring, surface blending, and finishing are required. The open-web construction dissipates heat during use, allowing for consistent surface finishes across extended runs. It is appropriate for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in both shop and field applications. Licensed trades including millwrights, pipefitters, and metal fabricators commonly use this disc type for weld cleanup, edge prep, and surface conditioning prior to coating or inspection.
Designed for use with hook and loop-compatible angle grinders and disc tools that accept a 5 inch diameter, 7/8 inch arbor surface conditioning disc.
Installation and disc changes should be performed with the tool fully powered down and disconnected from its power source. Confirm the backing pad is a hook and loop type rated for the disc diameter before mounting. Operators should wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling and using abrasive discs. Follow the tool and abrasive manufacturer guidelines for maximum operating speed to avoid disc failure.
