The 3M 7000120774 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Film Backed Belt designed for cleaning, finishing, blending, and deburring operations. The belt uses a smooth, stretch-resistant nylon film backing that minimizes friction on the back surface, making it well suited for stroke sanders and platen-based equipment. Aluminum oxide mineral is bonded with resin and distributed throughout a non-woven nylon fiber structure. As the fibers wear, they break down gradually to expose fresh mineral, which supports a consistent cut rate over the life of the belt. The belt measures 306 inches in length and 6 inches in width and is sold individually.
This belt is used across metal fabrication, woodworking, and general industrial finishing applications. It performs well in both light material removal and fine surface conditioning tasks. The non-woven construction allows debris and swarf to escape through the fiber gaps, reducing loading and extending belt life. It is well suited for use on stroke sanders and wide-platen machines where low back-surface friction is a priority. Typical installers include metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and shop professionals working on ferrous and non-ferrous substrates.
Designed for use on stroke sanders, wide-belt sanders, and platen-style abrasive equipment that accepts a 306 inch by 6 inch belt format. Suitable for ferrous and non-ferrous metals, composites, and other industrial substrates requiring surface conditioning.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines for tracking and tensioning. Power down and lock out the sanding machine before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt direction arrows align with the machine's drive rotation before operation. Inspect the belt and machine platens for wear or damage prior to each use.
