The 3M 7000120718 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail work on metal surfaces in industrial and fabrication environments. Built with a nonwoven open web construction and reinforced backing, this belt handles blending, deburring, contour finishing, and straightline-brushed finishes across a wide range of metals. The aluminum oxide abrasive grain is resin-bonded to a scrim backing, which reduces loading and heat buildup during extended runs. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators working on stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminum will find this belt suited to both flat and contoured surface applications. It measures 132 inches in length and 2 inches in width.
This belt is used in metalworking and fabrication shops for robotic processing lines, bench grinders, and stationary belt grinders running a 132-inch by 2-inch belt. Typical applications include removing grind lines, mill marks, and surface imperfections, as well as setting grain, cleaning weld zones, and fine finishing edges and corners. The open web construction allows the belt to conform to complex part profiles, making it well suited for detail work on contoured or irregular shapes.
Designed for use on stationary and robotic belt grinders accepting a 132-inch by 2-inch surface conditioning belt in aluminum oxide grade.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Confirm the machine is powered down and the belt tool is fully de-energized before changing belts. Verify belt tension, tracking, and guard clearance per the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate PPE, including eye protection and gloves, when handling abrasive belts.
