The 3M 7000120685 is a deburring wheel mandrel designed to mount abrasive deburring wheels onto rotary tools, die grinders, and similar handheld or bench-mounted power equipment. It features a 1/8-inch shank diameter and accepts wheels with a 1/8-inch center hole, accommodating wheel diameters from 1 inch up to 1-1/2 inches and a maximum wheel width of 1/4 inch. Rated to 13,000 RPM, this mandrel handles the rotational demands of typical deburring operations on metal, plastic, and composite workpieces. Machinists, pipefitters, and fabricators use it to secure deburring wheels when cleaning up burrs on tubing, sheet metal edges, and machined bores.
This mandrel suits light deburring tasks in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and field service environments. It is compatible with die grinders and rotary tools that accept a 1/8-inch collet or chuck. The 1-1/2-inch overall length keeps the tool compact and manageable in tight access areas. It ships individually and is suited for single-wheel setups where quick wheel changes are needed between jobs.
Designed for use with abrasive deburring wheels having a 1/8-inch center hole and a wheel diameter between 1 inch and 1-1/2 inches, used in rotary tools or die grinders fitted with a 1/8-inch collet.
Installation is performed by machinists or fabricators familiar with rotary abrasive tooling. Before mounting or changing the wheel, ensure the rotary tool or die grinder is unplugged or its air supply is disconnected and pressure is bled off. Secure the mandrel shank firmly in the collet and torque the collet nut per the tool manufacturer's specification. Inspect the deburring wheel for cracks or damage before each use, and never exceed the 13,000 RPM maximum speed rating of this mandrel.
