The 3M 7000120573 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt designed for demanding detail work across a wide range of metalworking applications. Built on a reinforced nonwoven open-web construction with an aluminum oxide abrasive mineral and resin bond, this belt measures 60 inches in length and 2 inches in width. The scrim-backed, brown-grade belt is engineered to deliver consistent surface conditioning results while minimizing heat build-up and loading, two common causes of early belt failure. It is suited for use on portable and stationary belt grinders operated by fabricators, maintenance techs, and metal finishing professionals.
This belt is intended for use on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other ferrous and non-ferrous alloys. Typical applications include blending, blending corners, cleaning, contour finishing, deburring, deburring edges, fine finishing, flat finishing, setting the grain, stainless steel finishing, and attaining straightline-brushed finishes. Its conformability makes it effective for robotic processing environments where the abrasive must maintain contact with complex-shaped parts. It is sold individually (each).
Designed for use on portable and stationary belt grinders that accept a 60-inch by 2-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for surface conditioning of stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metallic substrates.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator with the machine de-energized and lockout/tagout procedures in place. Verify the grinder's maximum operating speed is compatible with the belt rating before mounting. Inspect the belt for tears or damage prior to each use and confirm proper tracking before resuming operation.
