The 3M 7000120326 is a coated abrasive cloth belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines 3M ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide in a blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing is built to handle high-pressure grinding, resists heat deterioration through a durable resin bond, and can be run dry or with a lubricant. At P180 grit, this belt delivers a controlled, consistent finish on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Grinding aid is included in the construction to reduce heat buildup, making it well suited for stainless steel and other heat-sensitive alloys.
This belt is sized at 264 inches in length and 6 inches in width, fitting wide-contact and file-belt machines used in fabrication shops, weld finishing, and production grinding operations. It is well suited for metalworking professionals who need to maximize parts per belt and reduce changeover frequency in high-throughput environments. The wet-or-dry capability adds flexibility for shops that use flood coolant or cutting oil in their finishing process.
Designed for use on wide-contact belt grinders and file-belt machines accepting a 264-inch by 6-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for metal finishing, weld blending, and stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals including stainless steel.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified operator following the grinder or belt machine manufacturer's guidelines. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and locked out before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. When running wet, confirm that the machine and work area are rated for coolant use to prevent electrical hazards.
