The 3M 7000119458 is a coated abrasive belt designed for aggressive material removal on metal, wood, and composite surfaces. Running 3/4 inches wide and 18 inches long, it carries a 60-grit zirconia alumina abrasive grain bonded in a closed-coat pattern to a heavy-duty polyester cloth backing rated YF weight. The zirconia alumina grain is self-sharpening under pressure, which sustains cut rate through the life of the belt and reduces the frequency of belt changes. This belt is rated for both wet and dry operation, making it suitable for applications where coolant or lubricant is used to control heat.
This belt fits portable and stationary belt sanders used in metal fabrication, weld blending, pipe finishing, and surface conditioning. The 3/4-inch by 18-inch form factor is common on file-belt style sanders and narrow contact-wheel grinders used by fabricators, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians. At 60 grit medium grade, it is typically selected for initial stock removal, weld dressing, or deburring before stepping to finer grits for finishing work.
Designed for use on belt sanders and file-belt grinders that accept a 3/4-inch by 18-inch abrasive belt in both wet and dry operating configurations.
Confirm the sander is powered off and unplugged before mounting or removing belts. Verify belt tracking alignment and tension before starting the tool, and allow the belt to run briefly at no-load to confirm proper seating on the contact wheel or platen. Ensure the belt is oriented in the correct direction of travel if the backing carries a directional arrow. Wear appropriate eye and hand protection when operating abrasive belts.
