The 3M 7000119202 is a ceramic abrasive fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and other hard surfaces. Running at up to 6,600 RPM, this 9-1/8-inch disc uses a resinoid bond to hold ceramic abrasive grain firmly to a fiber backing. At 80 grit medium grade, it cuts fast without loading, making it a reliable choice for grinding, blending, and finishing work in fabrication and maintenance applications. The maroon color identifies the 982C series. Each unit weighs approximately 0.17 pounds. Installation requires a compatible arbor hole backing pad and angle grinder or disc grinder.
This disc is suited for metal fabrication shops, structural steel work, weld grinding, and surface preparation in industrial and commercial settings. The ceramic grain self-sharpens during use, maintaining cut rate over the life of the disc. It is typically used by metalworkers, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians who need consistent stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with angle grinder safety practices. Always confirm the grinder's rated RPM does not exceed the disc maximum of 6,600 RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and discard any damaged disc immediately. Follow applicable ANSI B7.1 safety guidelines for abrasive wheel use, including use of appropriate face and eye protection.
