The 3M 7000118392 is a coated abrasive belt designed for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain with aluminum oxide to deliver faster cutting action and longer service life compared to conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breaking down, and the belt runs effectively both dry and with lubricant. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup during operation, making this belt well suited for heat-sensitive metals including stainless steel. At 18 inches long and 3/4 inch wide with a 60-grit rating, it fits standard belt grinders used in fabrication and finishing work.
This belt is intended for professional metalworking environments where throughput and consistency matter. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and aggressive stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The durable resin bond resists heat deterioration, which extends belt life and reduces changeover frequency. It is suited for use on stationary belt grinders and contact-wheel machines found in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and manufacturing operations. Sold in packs with a minimum order quantity of 4 belts.
Designed for use on standard belt grinders and contact-wheel machines accepting an 18-inch by 3/4-inch abrasive belt in metal fabrication, finishing, and maintenance applications.
Install and replace abrasive belts only when the machine is fully powered off and isolated from its power source. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the grinder manufacturer specifications before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when handling or changing abrasive belts. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before each use and discard any belt showing signs of delamination or substrate failure.
