The 3M 7000118157 is a coated abrasive disc roll in the Stikita 236U series, designed for fast and repeatable sanding operations in automotive body, metal fabrication, and finishing applications. The roll format delivers adhesive-backed discs that tear off one at a time without liners, reducing changeover time and material waste. Each disc uses aluminum oxide mineral for an aggressive, consistent cut. The anti-loading coating helps keep the disc surface clear of dust and debris, extending usable life. At P180 grit, this disc is suited for scratch refinement on bare metal, shaping plastic filler, and primer sanding. The roll is sold in units of one roll.
This disc roll is intended for use with 6-inch PSA (pressure-sensitive adhesive) random orbital sanders and dual-action sanders common in auto body shops, metal shops, and finishing operations. The Stikita adhesive backing attaches and removes cleanly, making it well suited for high-volume sanding environments where technicians cycle through discs frequently. The C-weight paper backing provides enough stiffness for contouring work on flat and mildly curved surfaces. Some versions in the 236U series include a 7-hole pattern for vacuum-assisted dust extraction compatibility.
Designed for use with 6-inch PSA backup pads on random orbital and dual-action sanders. Compatible with vacuum-assisted sanding systems when used in the 7-hole pattern configuration.
Installation is performed by pressing the adhesive-backed disc firmly onto a clean, dry 6-inch PSA backup pad. Ensure the backup pad surface is free of debris before attaching a new disc to maintain full adhesion and disc stability during operation. Power down the sander before changing discs. Follow shop safety protocols for dust control, including the use of appropriate respiratory protection when sanding metal, filler, or primer materials.
