The 3M 7000059413 is a single-component, neutral-cure silicone firestop sealant engineered to seal penetrations against the spread of fire, smoke, noxious gases, water leakage, and airborne sound transmission. Ready to use with no mixing required, it delivers up to 4-hour fire protection in tested and listed systems when properly installed. The sealant finishes in light gray with black flecks and ships in a 20 fl. oz. sausage-style cartridge. It meets ANSI/UL 1479 requirements, carries a W Rating - Class 1 for water leakage resistance, and satisfies International Building Code life safety requirements. Licensed contractors and firestop specialists install this product in commercial and residential through-penetration assemblies.
This sealant is suited for through-penetration firestop applications in wall and floor assemblies where combined fire, water, smoke, and acoustic performance is required. It provides an STC rating of 53 when tested in an STC 54-rated wall assembly, making it appropriate for installations where minimizing noise transfer between occupancies is a code or design requirement. The optional L-Rating qualifies it as a smoke seal where that classification is specified. It also meets the intent of LEED VOC environmental regulations, supporting projects pursuing green building certification.
Designed for use in tested and listed through-penetration firestop systems in wall and floor assemblies per ANSI/UL 1479 and International Building Code requirements. Specific listed system numbers should be confirmed against current UL or manufacturer documentation for the intended assembly.
Installation must be performed by a qualified firestop contractor or licensed tradesperson in accordance with the applicable tested and listed system design. Shut off and isolate any mechanical, electrical, or plumbing services passing through the penetration before applying sealant. Follow the specific UL-listed system details for minimum and maximum annular space fill requirements — do not substitute materials or dimensions not included in the listed system. Consult IBC and local jurisdiction requirements for inspection and documentation of completed firestop assemblies.
