The 3M 7000051964 is a flame-resistant, woven nylon hook reclosable fastener supplied on a 50-yard roll at 3/4 inches wide. It uses a synthetic rubber-based adhesive engineered for high-temperature performance and is rated to meet F.A.R. 25.853 paragraph (a)(1)(i), the 60-second vertical burn test. The hook side mates with the 3M SJ3518FR loop fastener to form a complete reclosable system. The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing bonds reliably to paper, cardboard, painted and bare metal, glass, sealed wood, and a wide range of plastics, making this roll suitable for demanding environments where flame resistance is a code requirement.
This fastener is used in applications where reclosable attachment and flame-resistance certification are both required. Typical installations include aerospace interiors, commercial transportation seating, and industrial enclosures where F.A.R. or similar vertical burn standards apply. Facilities maintenance technicians, aerospace interior specialists, and commercial upholstery trades are the primary installers. The 50-yard roll length supports production-volume use as well as field service repairs where cut-to-length segments are needed.
Designed to mate with the 3M SJ3518FR flame-resistant loop fastener to form a complete reclosable hook-and-loop system.
Clean and dry the mounting surface thoroughly before applying the adhesive-backed hook strip; contaminants will reduce adhesive bond strength. Apply firm, even pressure along the full length of the strip after placement to ensure full adhesive contact. Cut to length using sharp scissors or a utility knife. In regulated environments such as aerospace or commercial transit interiors, verify that the installed assembly continues to meet the applicable F.A.R. or equivalent burn standard for the finished installation.
